Personally Identifying Information

Certain visitors to SOL's website choose to interact with us in ways that require us to gather personally identifying information. The amount and type of information we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, when you submit a job application through our careers portal, we collect information such as your name, contact details, CV, qualifications, and work history. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and phone number in order to respond to your enquiry.

We collect and process this information only for the specific, legitimate purpose for which it was provided and will not use it in a manner incompatible with that purpose. You have the right to refuse to supply personally identifying information, with the understanding that this may prevent you from accessing certain features of our website or services.

Lawful Basis for Processing

SOL processes your personal data only where a valid lawful basis exists under Section 25 of the NDPA 2023. Depending on the nature of your interaction with our website, we may rely on one or more of the following bases: your consent (for example, when you opt in to receive communications from us); the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (for example, when you submit a job application); a legal obligation to which SOL is subject; or our legitimate business interests, where these do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. SOL implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure, in compliance with Section 39 of the NDPA 2023. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) within 72 hours and communicate with you as required under the NDPA 2023.

Protection of Personal Information

SOL discloses personally identifying information only to those employees, contractors, and third-party service providers that need to know that information in order to process it on SOL's behalf or to provide services accessible through our website. All such parties are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and are bound by appropriate data processing agreements in line with Section 29 of the NDPA 2023. Where your information is processed by a third-party service provider outside Nigeria, SOL ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place for such cross-border transfers in accordance with Part VIII of the NDPA 2023. Beyond the above, SOL may disclose personally identifying information only in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or other legal requirement, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SOL, its clients, or the public.

If you have supplied your email address through our website or job application portal, SOL may occasionally contact you to share relevant information such as job opportunities, company updates, or service announcements. You may opt out of such communications at any time by contacting us at ict@solnigeria.com.
